आम्नायेषु नित्यसंयोगमस्य
तथाश्वमेधे राजसूये च विद्धि।
संयुज्यते धनुषा वर्मणा च
हस्त्यश्वाद्यै रथशस्त्रैश्च भूय:॥ १८॥
ते चेदिमे कौरवाणामुपाय-
मवगच्छेयुरवधेनैव पार्था:।
धर्मत्राणं पुण्यमेषां कृतं स्या-
दार्ये वृत्ते भीमसेनं निगृह्य॥ १९॥
अनुवाद
राजा युधिष्ठिर स्वाध्यायरूपी वेद-शास्त्रों से सदैव जुड़े रहते हैं। इसी प्रकार अश्वमेध और राजसूय आदि यज्ञों में भी उनकी रुचि रहती है। वे धनुष और कवच से भी सुसज्जित हैं। उनके पास हाथी-घोड़े, रथ और शस्त्र आदि वाहनों की कोई कमी नहीं है। यदि ये कुन्तीपुत्र कौरवों का वध किए बिना ही अपने राज्य को पुनः प्राप्त करने का कोई अन्य उपाय खोज लें, तो भीमसेन को आर्य पुरुषों के समान सदाचार में लगाने पर बल देकर वे धर्म की रक्षा का पुण्य ही करेंगे, यह तुम अच्छी तरह समझ लो॥18-19॥
King Yudhishthira is always connected with the Vedas and scriptures in the form of self-study. Similarly, he is always fond of the sacrifices like Ashwamedha and Rajasuya. He is also equipped with bow and armour. He has no dearth of vehicles like elephants and horses, chariots and arms. If these sons of Kunti find some other way to regain their kingdom without killing the Kauravas, then by insisting on engaging Bhimasena in the good conduct followed by the Aryan men, he will only perform the virtue of protecting the Dharma, you should understand this (well).॥18-19॥
