पुत्र उवाच
किं नु ते मामपश्यन्त्या: पृथिव्या अपि सर्वया।
किमाभरणकृत्यं ते किं भोगैर्जीवितेन वा॥ ३९॥ |

| पुत्र ने कहा - माँ ! यदि तुम मुझे न देखोगी, तो सारा संसार पाकर भी तुम्हें क्या सुख मिलेगा ? यदि मैं न रहूँ, तो तुम्हें आभूषणों की क्या आवश्यकता रहेगी ? तुम्हें सभी प्रकार के सुखों और जीवन से क्या प्रयोजन होगा ?॥39॥ |
