इसी दिशा में घटी एक घटना के कारण वृत्रासुर देवराज इन्द्र का शत्रु हो गया था। दक्षिण दिशा में आने पर (प्राण-शक्ति आदि के भेद से) सबका जीवन पुनः पाँच भागों में विभक्त हो जाता है (अर्थात् जीव नया शरीर धारण करते हैं)।॥13॥
Due to an incident that happened in this direction, Vritrasur became the enemy of Devraj Indra. On coming to the south direction, everyone's life again gets divided into five parts (due to the difference of life-force etc.) (i.e. living beings take a new body).॥ 13॥
