उस मूर्ख पुरुष ने कण्व ऋषि के वचनों की उपेक्षा करके अपनी मोटी जांघ को, जो हाथी की सूँड़ के समान ऊपर-नीचे होती थी, पटककर इस प्रकार कहा -॥39॥
That foolish man, disregarding the words of the sage Kanva, beat his thick thigh, which had ups and downs like the trunk of an elephant, and said thus -॥ 39॥
