शंख की ध्वनि से भयभीत होकर रथ के वेगवान घोड़े भी भूमि पर घुटने टेक बैठे और उत्तर भी अत्यन्त भयभीत होकर रथ के ऊपरी भाग पर, जहाँ सारथि का आसन होता है, आकर बैठ गया॥9॥
Frightened by the sound of the conch, even the swift horses of the chariot knelt down on the ground, and Uttara, being very frightened, came and sat on the upper part of the chariot where the charioteer's seat is.॥ 9॥
