वैशम्पायन जी कहते हैं - 'हे जनमेजय! उत्तर को सारथी बनाकर तथा शमी वृक्ष की परिक्रमा करके पाण्डवों में श्रेष्ठ अर्जुन अपने समस्त अस्त्र-शस्त्र लेकर युद्ध के लिए चले।
Vaishmpayana says, 'O Janamejaya! After making Uttar his charioteer and circumambulating the Shami tree, the greatest of the Pandavas, Arjuna, taking with him all his weapons, proceeded for the battle.
