सादिन: सादिभिश्चैव गजैश्चापि महागजा:।
असिभि: पट्टिशै: प्रासै: शक्तिभिस्तोमरैरपि॥ १०॥
संरब्धा: समरे राजन् निजघ्नुरितरेतरम्।
निघ्नन्त: समरेऽन्योन्यं शूरा: परिघबाहव:॥ ११॥
न शेकुरभिसंरब्धा: शूरान् कर्तुं पराङ्मुखान्। |

| अनुवाद |
| घुड़सवार घुड़सवारों से और हाथी सवार हाथी सवारों से युद्ध कर रहे थे। हे राजन! वे सभी क्रोध में भरकर तलवार, ढाल, भाले, बरछी और गदा आदि शस्त्रों से एक-दूसरे पर आक्रमण कर रहे थे। किन्तु परिघ के समान प्रबल भुजाओं वाले वे वीर योद्धा उनके भयंकर आक्रमणों के बावजूद भी परस्पर युद्धरत योद्धाओं को पीछे नहीं धकेल पा रहे थे। |
