वे सब-के-सब सहसा तितर-बितर हो गए और आकाश में बिखरे हुए तारों के समान प्रतीत होने लगे। इस प्रकार जलते हुए देवताओं ने वज्रधारी इन्द्र का साथ छोड़कर अग्निनन्दन स्कन्द की शरण ली, तभी उन्हें शांति मिली। जब देवताओं ने उन्हें त्याग दिया, तब इन्द्र ने स्कन्द पर अपने वज्र से प्रहार किया॥13-14॥
All of them suddenly became scattered and looked like stars scattered in the sky. In this way the burning gods left the company of the thunderbolt-wielding Indra and took refuge in Agninandan Skanda, only then they got peace. When the gods abandoned them, Indra struck Skanda with his thunderbolt.॥13-14॥
