अंगिरा उवाच
कुरु पुण्यं प्रजास्वर्ग्यं भवाग्निस्तिमिरापह:।
मां च देव कुरुष्वाग्ने प्रथमं पुत्रमञ्जसा॥ १७॥ |

| अंगिरा ने कहा - अग्निदेव! आप अपने लोगों को स्वर्ग प्राप्ति कराने वाले पुण्य कार्य (देवताओं को हवि पहुँचाने का कार्य) को पूर्ण करें और स्वयं अंधकार को दूर करने वाले अग्नि के आसन पर प्रतिष्ठित हों; साथ ही मुझे भी अपने प्रथम पुत्र के रूप में स्वीकार करें॥17॥ |
