हे ब्राह्मण! ये पाँचों तत्त्व एक-दूसरे के बिना नहीं रह सकते। ये एक साथ रहने पर ही सुस्पष्ट रूप से प्रकट होते हैं। जब ये व्यक्त और अव्यक्त पाँचों तत्त्व भिन्न-भिन्न अवस्था को प्राप्त होते हैं, तब यह जीवात्मा काल के प्रभाव से अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार दूसरा शरीर प्राप्त करता है। ये पाँचों तत्त्व मृत्यु के समय विपरीत क्रम से विलीन होते हैं और जन्म के समय प्रत्यक्ष क्रम से उत्पन्न होते हैं।॥9-10॥
O Brahmin! These five elements cannot exist without each other. They are well manifested only when they are together. When the five elements, manifested and unmanifested, attain a different state, then this soul, under the influence of time, attains another body according to its resolution. These five elements dissolve in the reverse order at the time of death and are produced in the direct order at the time of birth.॥9-10॥
