मेरा मन अस्त्र-शस्त्रों में लगा हुआ था। उस समय मैंने हाथ जोड़कर भगवान शंकर को मन ही मन प्रणाम किया और यह कहा - 'यदि प्रभु मुझ पर प्रसन्न हैं तो मेरा अभीष्ट वर इस प्रकार है - मैं देवताओं के पास जितने भी दिव्यास्त्र हैं, उन सब को जानना चाहता हूँ।' यह सुनकर भगवान शंकर ने मुझसे कहा - 'हे पाण्डुपुत्र! मैं तुम्हें समस्त दिव्यास्त्रों की प्राप्ति का आशीर्वाद देता हूँ।' 48-50।
