तत: प्रववृते युद्धं तेषां तस्य च भारत।
तै: प्रयुक्तान् महामायै: शूलशक्तिपरश्वधान्॥ ४९॥
भल्लैर्भीम: प्रचिच्छेद भीमवेगतरैस्तत:।
अन्तरिक्षगतानां च भूमिष्टानां च गर्जताम्॥ ५०॥
शरैर्विव्याध गात्राणि राक्षसानां महाबल:।
सा लोहितमहावृष्टिरभ्यवर्षन्महाबलम्॥ ५१॥
गदापरिघपाणीनां रक्षसां कायसम्भवा:।
कायेभ्य: प्रच्युता धारा राक्षसानां समन्तत:॥ ५२॥
अनुवाद
भारत! तत्पश्चात् उन यक्षों और गन्धर्वों का भीमसेन के साथ युद्ध प्रारम्भ हो गया। वे यक्ष और राक्षस बड़े मायावी थे। भीमसेन ने उनके द्वारा फेंके गए भालों, बर्छियों और कुल्हाड़ियों को अपने भयंकर वेगशाली भल्ल नामक बाणों से काट डाला। वे राक्षस आकाश में उड़ते हुए और भूमि पर खड़े होकर बड़े जोर से गर्जना कर रहे थे। महाबली भीम ने बाणों की वर्षा से उनके शरीरों को बींध डाला। हाथों में गदा और परिघ धारण किए हुए राक्षस महाबली भीम पर रक्त की वर्षा करने लगे और चारों ओर राक्षसों के शरीरों से रक्त की अनेक धाराएँ बहने लगीं।
Bhaarat! Thereafter the battle of those Yakshas and Gandharvas with Bhimasena began. Those Yakshas and demons were very elusive. Bhimasena cut down the spears, spears and axes thrown by them with the terrifyingly fast arrows called Bhalla. Those demons were roaring loudly while flying in the sky and standing on the ground. The mighty Bhima pierced their bodies with a shower of arrows. The demons holding the mace and the parigha in their hands started raining blood on the mighty Bhima and many streams of blood started flowing from the bodies of the demons all around.
