उसी समय गन्धमादन पर्वत की चोटियों पर बलवान भीमसेन ने एक अत्यन्त सुन्दर केले का बगीचा देखा, जो कई योजन तक फैला हुआ था। मदमस्त धारा में बहते हुए पराक्रमी हाथी के समान वे बड़े वेग से उस केले के वन में कोलाहल मचाते और नाना प्रकार के वृक्षों को तोड़ते हुए वहाँ पहुँचे। वहाँ के केले के वृक्ष खम्भों के समान मोटे थे। उनकी ऊँचाई अनेक ताड़ के वृक्षों के बराबर थी। बलवानों में श्रेष्ठ भीमसेन उन्हें उखाड़कर बड़े वेग से जहाँ-तहाँ फेंकने लगे। वे न केवल अत्यन्त तेजस्वी थे, अपितु उन्हें अपने बल और पराक्रम का भी अभिमान था; अतएव वे भगवान नरसिंह के समान भयंकर गर्जना करने लगे। तत्पश्चात् उन्होंने अन्य अनेक बड़े-बड़े पशुओं पर भी आक्रमण किया। रुरु, वानर, सिंह, भैंसे और जलचर जन्तुओं पर भी उन्होंने आक्रमण किया। उन पशु-पक्षियों तथा भीमसेन की भयंकर ध्वनि से दूसरे वन में रहने वाले मृग और पक्षी भी काँप उठे।
At the same time, on the peaks of Gandhamadana, the powerful Bhima saw a very beautiful banana garden, which was spread over several yojanas. Like a mighty elephant flowing in a stream of intoxication, he went there with great speed, creating a ruckus in that banana forest and breaking various trees. The banana trees there were as thick as pillars. Their height was equal to many palm trees. Bhima, the best among the strong, started uprooting them and throwing them everywhere with great speed. He was not only very illustrious, but was also proud of his strength and valour; therefore, he started roaring fiercely like Lord Narasimha. After that, he attacked many other big animals. He also attacked Ruru, monkeys, lions, buffaloes and aquatic animals. The deer and birds living in the other forest also trembled with the terrible sound of those animals and birds and Bhimasena. 50–55.
