तब बंदी ने कहा - अष्टावक्र! एक ही अग्नि अनेक प्रकार से प्रकाशित होती है, एक ही सूर्य समस्त जगत को प्रकाशित करता है। शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले देवताओं के राजा वीर इन्द्र एक ही हैं, तथा पितरों के स्वामी यमराज भी एक ही हैं।
Then the prisoner said - Ashtavakra! One and the same fire shines in many ways, one and the same Sun illuminates the whole world. There is only one brave Indra, the king of gods who destroys enemies, and there is only one Yamraj, the lord of ancestors.
