अग्निर्दहञ्जातवेदा: सतां गृहान्
विसर्जयंस्तेजसा न स्म धाक्षीत्।
बालेषु पुत्रेषु कृपणं वदत्सु
तथा वाचमवचिन्वन्ति सन्त:॥ २७॥
अनुवाद
यद्यपि अग्नि स्वभाव से ही जलाने वाली है, तथापि वह विषय को तुरन्त जान लेने में समर्थ है। इसीलिए परीक्षा के समय वह सदाचारी और सत्यनिष्ठ लोगों के घर (शरीर) को छोड़ देती है, उन्हें जलाती नहीं। इसी प्रकार संत पुरुष भी नम्रतापूर्वक बोलने वाले बालकों के वचनों में से सत्य और हितकारी बात चुन लेते हैं - (वे उसे ग्रहण करते हैं, उसकी उपेक्षा नहीं करते)। तात्पर्य यह है कि तुम मेरे वचनों का अर्थ समझकर उन्हें ग्रहण करो ॥27॥
Although fire is a burner by nature, it is capable of knowing the subject immediately. This is why at the time of examination, it leaves the houses (bodies) of those who are virtuous and truthful, and does not burn them. Similarly, the saints also choose the true and beneficial thing from the words of children who speak politely – (they accept it, do not ignore it). The meaning is that you should understand the meaning of my words and accept them. ॥27॥
