अष्टावक्र बोले - तराजू के पागल तार भी आठ ही होते हैं, जिनका वजन सैकड़ों होता है। सिंह को भी मार डालने वाले शरभ के भी आठ ही पैर होते हैं। देवताओं में वसुओं की संख्या भी आठ ही सुनी जाती है और समस्त यज्ञों में आठ ही कोणों से यूप बनाया जाता है॥15॥
Ashtavakra said - The crazy strings of the balance are also eight, which weigh hundreds. Sharabha, who kills even a lion, has only eight legs. The number of Vasus* among the gods is also heard to be eight and in all the yagnas, the yupa is made with only eight angles.॥ 15॥
