कार्तवीर्य के ऐसे अत्याचारों को देखकर देवता और ऋषिगण महान व्रतों का पालन करते हुए, दानवों का मिलकर नाश करने वाले पराक्रमी देवाधिदेव भगवान विष्णु के पास गए और इस प्रकार बोले - 'भगवन! आप समस्त प्राणियों की रक्षा के लिए कृतवीर्य कुमार अर्जुन का वध कर दीजिए।' एक दिन पराक्रमी राजा हय ने शची के साथ क्रीड़ा करते हुए अपने दिव्य विमान से देवराज इन्द्र पर आक्रमण किया। तब भगवान विष्णु ने कार्तवीर्य अर्जुन के विनाश के विषय में इन्द्र से विचार-विमर्श किया। 15-17॥
Seeing such atrocities of Kartavirya, the gods and the sages observing great fasts, the mighty Devadhidev, who together destroys the demons, went to Lord Vishnu and said thus - 'Lord! You, for the protection of all living beings, kill Kritavirya Kumar Arjuna.' One day, the mighty King Haya, while playing with Sachi, attacked Devraj Indra with his divine aircraft. India Then Lord Vishnu exchanged views with Indra regarding the destruction of Kartavirya Arjuna. 15-17॥
