लोभयित्वाभिविश्वास्य विषयं मम शोभना:।
ता राजभयभीताश्च शापभीताश्च योषित:॥ ५४॥
अशक्यमूचुस्तत् कार्यं विवर्णा गतचेतस:।
तत्र त्वेका जरद्योषा राजानमिदमब्रवीत्॥ ५५॥ |

| 'सुन्दर स्त्रियों! तुम उन्हें फुसलाकर सब प्रकार की सुख-सुविधाएँ देकर मेरे राज्य में ले आओ।' राजा की यह बात सुनकर वेश्याएँ पीली पड़ गईं। वे लगभग मूर्छित हो गईं। एक ओर तो वे राजा से डरती थीं और दूसरी ओर ऋषि के शाप से भयभीत थीं; अतः उन्होंने कहा कि यह कार्य असम्भव है। उनमें एक वृद्धा भी थी। उसने राजा से यह कहा -॥54-55॥ |
