नैष मृत्युरनिष्टो नो नि:सृतानां गृहात् स्वयम्।
जलमग्निस्तथा वायुरथवापि विकर्षणम्॥ २७॥
तापसानां प्रशस्यन्ते गच्छ संजय मा चिरम्। |

| ‘संजय! हम स्वयं गृहस्थाश्रम त्यागकर यहाँ आए हैं, अतः इस प्रकार की मृत्यु हमारे लिए हानिकारक नहीं हो सकती। जल, अग्नि और वायु के संयोग से अथवा उपवास द्वारा प्राण त्यागना तपस्वियों के लिए श्रेयस्कर माना गया है; अतः अब तुम शीघ्र ही यहाँ से चले जाओ। विलम्ब न करो।’॥27 1/2॥ |

| ‘Sanjaya! We ourselves have abandoned the grihasthashram and have come here, so this kind of death cannot be harmful for us. Giving up life by the combination of water, fire and air or by fasting is considered praiseworthy for ascetics; therefore now you should leave from here quickly. Do not delay’॥27 1/2॥ |
