कुन्ती को इस प्रकार वन जाने के लिए उद्यत देखकर महल की सभी स्त्रियाँ विलाप करने लगीं। उनके रोने का उच्च स्वर सर्वत्र गूँज उठा। उस समय कुन्ती को वापस लाने में सफल न हो पाने पर पाण्डव राजा धृतराष्ट्र की परिक्रमा और उन्हें प्रणाम करके लौटने लगे॥2-3॥
