विप्रवरो! अश्वमेध नामक महायज्ञ में पृथ्वी को दक्षिणा देने की परंपरा है; अतः मैंने अर्जुन द्वारा जीती हुई यह सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वी ऋत्विजों को दे दी है। अब मैं वन को जाऊँगा। तुम लोग चतुर्होत्र यज्ञ की परंपरा के अनुसार पृथ्वी को चार भागों में बाँटकर आपस में बाँट लो। द्विजश्रेष्ठगण! मैं ब्राह्मणों का धन नहीं लेना चाहता। ब्राह्मणो! मेरे भाई भी सदैव यही विचार रखते हैं। 11—13 1/2॥
