भृगु नन्दन! हाथी और मृग सर्पों के अंश हैं। भैंसे राक्षसों के अंश हैं। मुर्गे और सूअर राक्षसों के अंश हैं। इड़ा-गाय, दूध और सोम-ये सब पृथ्वी के रूप हैं। ऐसी स्मृति है ॥47-48॥
‘Bhrigu Nandan! Elephants and deer are parts of serpents. Buffaloes are parts of demons. Chickens and pigs are parts of demons. Ida-cow, milk and Som-all these are forms of earth. Such is the memory. ॥ 47-48॥
