जब दैत्यों ने देवताओं को पराजित कर दिया, तब देवताओं ने भी यही प्रायश्चित किया, जिससे उन्हें अपना (खोया हुआ) देवत्व पुनः प्राप्त हो गया और वे परम शक्तिशाली एवं परम सिद्ध हो गए ॥40॥
When the demons defeated the gods, the gods performed this same act of atonement. Due to this, they regained their (lost) divinity and became extremely powerful and supremely accomplished. ॥ 40॥
