एवमेतान् गुणान् विद्याद् गवादीनां यथाक्रमम्।
गोप्रदाता समाप्नोति समस्तानष्टमे क्रमे॥ १७॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | उनके दान का फल इस प्रकार है: जो गौ का मूल्य देता है, वह परलोक में छत्तीस हजार वर्ष तक सुख भोगता है, जो गौ के बदले वस्त्र देता है, वह आठ हजार वर्ष तक सुख भोगता है और जो गौ के बदले स्वर्ण देता है, वह बीस हजार वर्ष तक सुख भोगता है। इस प्रकार गौओं के निष्क्रिय दान का फल बताया गया है। इसे अच्छी तरह समझ लेना चाहिए। जब ब्राह्मण गौ का दान लेकर अपने घर की ओर जाने लगता है, तब दानकर्ता को आठ पग में ही अपने दान का फल मिल जाता है।॥16-17॥ | | | | ‘The fruit of their donations is as follows: the one who gives the price of a cow enjoys happiness in the next world for thirty-six thousand years, the one who gives clothes in place of a cow enjoys happiness for eight thousand years and the one who gives gold in place of a cow enjoys happiness for twenty thousand years. In this way the fruit of passive donation of cows has been described. This should be understood well.
