यो यजेताश्वमेधेन मासि मासि यतव्रत:।
वर्जयेन्मधु मांसं च सममेतद् युधिष्ठिर॥ ८॥
अनुवाद
युधिष्ठिर! जो मनुष्य कठोर व्रतों का पालन करता है और प्रति माह अश्वमेध यज्ञ करता है तथा जो मद्य और मांस का त्याग करता है, उन दोनों को एक ही फल प्राप्त होता है॥8॥
Yudhishthira! The man who observes strict fasts and performs the Ashwamedha Yagna every month and the one who renounces wine and meat, both get the same result. ॥ 8॥
