युधिष्ठिर उवाच
शतायुरुक्त: पुरुष: शतवीर्यश्च जायते।
कस्मान्म्रियन्ते पुरुषा बाला अपि पितामह॥ १॥ |

| युधिष्ठिर बोले - पितामह! शास्त्रों में कहा गया है कि 'मनुष्य की आयु सौ वर्ष होती है। वह सैकड़ों प्रकार की शक्तियों के साथ जन्म लेता है।' किन्तु मैं देखता हूँ कि बहुत से लोग बचपन में ही मर जाते हैं। ऐसा क्यों होता है?॥1॥ |
