अतिथिव्रता: सुव्रता ये जना वै
प्रतिश्रयं ददति ब्राह्मणेभ्य:।

मंदाकिनीं तेऽपि विभूषयन्ति॥ १९॥ |

| धृतराष्ट्र बोले, "जो अतिथियों की सेवा में सदैव तत्पर रहते हैं और उत्तम व्रतों का पालन करते हैं, जो ब्राह्मणों को आश्रय देते हैं तथा जो बचे हुए भोजन को अपने आश्रितों में बाँटकर खाते हैं, वे ही मंदाकिनी नदी के तट की शोभा बढ़ाने वाले हैं (राजा धृतराष्ट्र को वहाँ जाने की भी आवश्यकता नहीं है)।" |
