भीष्मजी कहते हैं - राजन ! जब मृत्यु की प्रेरणा से बालक को डसने वाला वह सर्प बार-बार अपने को निर्दोष और मृत्यु को दोषी बताने लगा, तब मृत्यु के देवता भी वहाँ पहुँच गए और सर्प से इस प्रकार बोले ॥49॥
Bhishmaji says – King! When the snake, which had bitten the child with the inspiration of death, started repeatedly claiming that it was innocent and death was guilty, then the god of death also reached there and spoke to the snake in this way. 49॥
