दण्डेन नीयते चेदं दण्डं नयति वा पुन:।
दण्डनीतिरिति ख्याता त्रीँल्लोकानभिवर्तते॥ ७८॥ |

| इस शास्त्र के अनुसार दण्ड के द्वारा जगत को उचित मार्ग पर लगाया जाता है अथवा राजा अपने अनुसार प्रजा में दण्ड का विधान करता है; इसीलिए यह दण्डनीति नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। इसका विस्तार तीनों लोकों में होगा ॥78॥ |
