पुमांश्चैवापुमांश्चैव त्रैलिङ्गॺं प्राकृतं स्मृतम्।
न वापुमान् पुमांश्चैव स लिङ्गीत्यभिधीयते॥ २५॥ |

| अनुवाद |
| पुरुष और प्रकृति ये दो तत्त्व हैं। इनके स्वरूप को प्रकट करने वाले सात्त्विक, राजस और तामस ये तीन प्रकार के प्रतीक प्रकृति माने गए हैं; परंतु जो लिंग है, अर्थात् जो आत्मा इन सबका आधार है, उसे न तो पुरुष कहा जा सकता है और न प्रकृति। वह उन दोनों से भिन्न है॥ 25॥ |

| Purusha and Prakriti are the two elements. The three types of Sattvik, Rajas and Tamas symbols which express their nature are considered to be Prakrit; but the one who has gender i.e. the soul which is the basis of all these, can neither be called Purusha nor Prakriti.
