हंस उवाच
स्वाध्याय एषां देवत्वं व्रतं साधुत्वमुच्यते।
असाधुत्वं परीवादो मृत्युर्मानुष्यमुच्यते॥ ४४॥ |

| हंस ने कहा - हे साधुगण! वेदों और शास्त्रों का अध्ययन ही ब्राह्मणों का दैवीय गुण है। उत्तम व्रतों का पालन करना उनका साधुत्व माना जाता है। दूसरों की निन्दा करना उनका असाधुत्व माना जाता है और मृत्यु को प्राप्त होना उनकी मनुष्यता मानी जाती है। |
