चतुर्णामेव वर्णानामागम: पुरुषर्षभ।
अतोऽन्ये त्वतिरिक्ता ये ते वै संकरजा: स्मृता:॥ ७॥
अनुवाद
हे महात्मन! इस प्रकार ब्रह्मा के चार अंगों से चार वर्णों (जातियों) की उत्पत्ति हुई। इनके अतिरिक्त जो अन्य मनुष्य हैं, वे वर्णसंकर (विभिन्न जातियों से मिश्रित) कहलाते हैं, क्योंकि वे इन चारों वर्णों के मिश्रण से उत्पन्न होते हैं॥7॥
O great man! In this way, the four Varnas (castes) originated from the four limbs of Brahma. The other human beings, apart from these, are called Varnasankar (mixed with different castes) because they are born from the mixture of these four Varnas. ॥ 7॥
