शान्त्यर्थं मनसस्तात नैतद् वृद्धानुशासनम्॥ १५॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | तत्! नास्तिक लोग कहते हैं कि वेदों में कहे गए वचनों को प्रजा के निर्वाह और मन की शांति के लिए प्रमाण माना जाता है; अर्थात् वेदों में कर्म करने का जो नियम है, वह अयोग्य लोगों की जीविका के लिए है और पूर्वजन्म में किए गए जिस कर्म की चर्चा की गई है, वह दुखी लोगों के मन को धैर्य प्रदान करने के लिए है, परन्तु यह मत ठीक नहीं है; क्योंकि पतंजलि आदि विद्वानों ने ऐसा उपदेश नहीं दिया है (पतंजलि ने ‘तद्विपाको जात्यायुर्भोग:’ इस सूत्र के द्वारा जाति (जन्म), आयु और सुख-दुःख के भोग को पूर्वकर्म का फल बताया है)। | | | | Tat!
