कुश-काश आदि घास, चावल-जौ आदि औषधियाँ, नगर के बाहर उगने वाली अन्य औषधियाँ तथा पर्वतों पर उगने वाली औषधियाँ, इन सबकी उत्पत्ति गृहस्थ आश्रम में ही होती है (क्योंकि वहाँ किए गए यज्ञ से पर्जन्य (बादल) उत्पन्न होते हैं, जिनसे वर्षा आदि द्वारा घास, लताएँ तथा औषधियाँ उत्पन्न होती हैं)। औषधियाँ जो जीवन का सार हैं; उनके बाहर कुछ भी दिखाई नहीं देता।॥9॥
Grass like Kush-Kaash, etc., medicinal herbs like rice-barley, other medicinal herbs grown outside the city and medicinal herbs grown on the mountains, all of them have their origin in the household ashram (because the sacrifice performed there gives rise to Parjanya (clouds), from which, grass, creepers and medicinal herbs are produced through rain etc.). Medicines which are the essence of life; nothing can be seen outside of that.॥ 9॥
