आसीदादानदण्डोऽपि वधदण्डोऽद्य वर्तते।
वधेनापि न शक्यन्ते नियन्तुमपरे जना:॥ २०॥

इसके बाद आवश्यकतानुसार आर्थिक दण्ड का भी प्रचलन हुआ और आजकल तो मृत्युदण्ड का भी प्रचलन हो गया है। मृत्युदण्ड से भी अनेक दुष्टों को नियंत्रित करना या मर्यादा में रखना असम्भव होता जा रहा है।
