अनुवाद
प्राचीन काल के ब्राह्मण सत्यभाषण और इन्द्रिय-निग्रह रूपी यज्ञ का अनुष्ठान करते थे। वे परम पुरुषार्थ (मोक्ष) के प्रति लोभी थे, उन्हें सांसारिक धन की कोई लालसा नहीं थी, वे उसी में सदैव संतुष्ट रहते थे। वे सभी प्राप्त वस्तुओं का त्याग करने वाले और ईर्ष्या-द्वेष से रहित थे। 18 1/2॥
The Brahmins of ancient times used to perform the ritual of Yagya in the form of speaking truth and controlling the senses. He was greedy for the ultimate effort (salvation), he had no thirst for worldly wealth, he was always satisfied with that. All of them were the ones who renounced what they had acquired and were free from jealousy and hatred. 18 1/2॥
