विगुणं च पुन: कर्म ज्याय इत्यनुशुश्रुम॥ १७॥
सर्वभूतोपघातश्च फलभावे च संयम:।
अनुवाद
हमने सुना है कि यदि किसी प्रकार की भूल के कारण कार्य निष्फल भी हो जाए, तो भी यदि वह निःस्वार्थ भाव से किया जा रहा है तो वह उत्तम ही है, अर्थात् लाभदायक है। यदि कुत्ते आदि अशुद्ध पशुओं के स्पर्श के कारण निःस्वार्थ भाव से किए गए कार्य में कुछ विघ्न भी आ जाए, तो भी वह कार्य नष्ट नहीं होता, श्रेष्ठ माना जाता है, इसलिए प्रत्येक कार्य में फल की भावना या इच्छा पर संयम और नियंत्रण रखना आवश्यक है। 17 1/2॥
We have heard that even if the work becomes worthless due to some kind of mistake, if it is being done selflessly then it is still good, that is, it is beneficial. Even if there is some hindrance in the work done selflessly due to being touched by impure animals like dog etc., still that work is not destroyed, it is considered to be the best, hence in every work it is necessary to have restraint and control over the feeling or desire for the result. 17 1/2॥
