शुकदेव जी ने पूछा- पिताश्री! चौबीस तत्त्वों की साधारण सृष्टि क्षर अर्थात् प्रधान से हुई है और शब्द आदि विषयों सहित इन्द्रियाँ बुद्धि के बल से उत्पन्न हुई हैं, अतः यह असाधारण सृष्टि है। बाँधने के कारण ही इसे प्रधान या बलवान माना गया है, ये दोनों प्रकार की सृष्टि प्रकृति से, पुरुष के संसर्ग से हुई है; यह सब मैं पहले सुन चुका हूँ॥1॥
Shukdev Ji asked- Father! The ordinary creation of twenty-four elements has been created from Kshar i.e. Pradhan and the senses along with the objects like sound etc. have been created by the power of the intellect, hence this is an extraordinary creation. Due to being binding, it is considered to be the main or strong, both these types of creation have been created from Prakriti, from the association of Purush; I have heard all this before.॥ 1॥
