जैसे चोर-डाकू किसी की भेड़ को मारकर उसे कंधे पर उठाकर भागते हैं, तो उन्हें सब ओर से पकड़े जाने का भय रहता है; और जब मार्ग प्रतिकूल प्रतीत होता है, तब वे भेड़ का बोझ कंधे से उतारकर सुखपूर्वक अपनी इच्छित दिशा में चले जाते हैं। उसी प्रकार अज्ञानी मनुष्य जब तक सांसारिक कार्यों का बोझ ढोते रहते हैं, तब तक उन्हें सर्वत्र भय रहता है; और जब वे उसे त्याग देते हैं, तब उन्हें शांति मिलती है॥14॥
Just as thieves and robbers, after killing someone's sheep, run away carrying it on their shoulders, they fear being caught in all directions; and when they find the path to be unfavorable, they throw off the burden of the sheep from their shoulders and then move on to their desired direction comfortably. In the same way, as long as ignorant people carry the burden of worldly activities, they remain in fear everywhere; and when they abandon it, they get peace.॥ 14॥
