भीष्म कहते हैं - युधिष्ठिर! इन्द्रियों के विषयों पर विजय पाना अत्यन्त कठिन है। जो प्राणी उनमें आसक्त रहते हैं, वे दुःख भोगते रहते हैं; और जो महात्मा उनमें आसक्त नहीं रहते, वे परम मोक्ष को प्राप्त होते हैं।॥1॥
Bhishma says - Yudhishthira! It is very difficult to overcome the objects of the senses. Those beings who are attached to them keep on suffering; and those great souls who are not attached to them attain the ultimate salvation. ॥1॥
