दोषैर्मूलादवच्छिन्नैर्विशुद्धात्मा विमुच्यते।
विनाशयति सम्भूतमयस्मयमयो यथा।
तथा कृतात्मा सहजैर्दोषैर्नश्यति तामसै:॥ २७॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | भीष्म बोले, "हे राजन! इन दोषों का मूल कारण अज्ञान है। अतः जब ये दोष जड़ सहित नष्ट हो जाते हैं, तब मनुष्य का अन्तःकरण शुद्ध हो जाता है और वह संसार के बंधन से मुक्त हो जाता है। जैसे लोहे की बनी छेनी की तेज धार लोहे की जंजीर को काटकर नष्ट हो जाती है, वैसे ही शुद्ध बुद्धि तमोगुण से उत्पन्न स्वाभाविक दोषों को नष्ट करके उनके साथ ही शान्त हो जाती है॥ 27॥ | | | | Bhishma said, "O King! The root cause of these defects is ignorance. Therefore, when these defects are destroyed along with their root, the inner conscience of a man becomes pure and he is freed from the bondage of the world.
