मनु कहते हैं - बृहस्पति! जैसे स्वप्नावस्था में स्थूल शरीर सोया रहता है और सूक्ष्म शरीर चलता रहता है, वैसे ही यह ज्ञानरूपी आत्मा इस शरीर को त्यागकर या तो इन्द्रियों सहित पुनः शरीर धारण कर लेता है अथवा सुषुप्ति की भाँति मुक्त हो जाता है॥1॥
Manu says - Brihaspati! Just as in the dream state the gross body remains asleep and the subtle body keeps moving, similarly after leaving this body this soul in the form of knowledge either takes a body again along with the senses or becomes free like in deep sleep.॥ 1॥
