ब्राह्मण उवाच
कृत: प्रयत्न: सुमहान् सर्वेषां संनिधाविह।
सह तुल्यफलावावां गच्छावो यत्र नौ गति:॥ ८॥ |

| ब्राह्मण बोला, "हे राजन! मैंने यहाँ सबके सामने आपको अपने जप का फल देने का बहुत प्रयत्न किया है; फिर भी आप दोनों मिलकर फल खाने पर अड़े हैं; इसलिए हम दोनों को फल बराबर-बराबर बाँटना चाहिए। आइए, जहाँ तक हो सके, हम साथ-साथ चलें।" |
