भृगुरुवाच
अमितानां महाशब्दो यान्ति भूतानि सम्भवम्।
ततस्तेषां महाभूतशब्दोऽयमुपपद्यते॥ ३॥ |

| भृगुजी बोले - मुनि ! ये पाँचों तत्त्व असीम हैं, इसीलिए इनके साथ 'महा' शब्द जोड़ा गया है। इन्हीं से तत्त्वों की उत्पत्ति होती है; अतः इनके लिए 'महाभूत' शब्द का प्रयोग उचित है ॥3॥ |
