राजन! एक समय सभी देवता और दैत्य बड़े आदर के साथ देवगुरु बृहस्पति के पास गए और पूछा- 'महर्षि! आप धर्म का फल जानते हैं। इसी प्रकार पापों के फलस्वरूप परलोक में नरक भोगना भी आपसे अज्ञात नहीं है, किन्तु जिस योगी के लिए सुख और दुःख दोनों एक ही हैं, वह उन दोनों के कारण पुण्य और पाप को जीतता है या नहीं? महर्षि! आप हमें पुण्य का फल बताइए और यह भी बताइए कि पुण्यात्मा पुरुष अपने पापों का नाश किस प्रकार करता है?'॥32-33॥
King! Once all the gods and demons went to Devguru Brihaspati with great respect and asked- 'Maharshi! You know the result of religion. Similarly, the suffering of hell in the afterlife as a result of sins is also not unknown to you, but the Yogi for whom both happiness and sorrow are the same, does he conquer the virtue and sin which are the cause of both of them or not. Maharshi! Describe the result of virtue to us and also tell us how a virtuous man destroys his sins?'॥ 32-33॥
