राजन! जब ये सब भाई आपके साथ द्वैत वन में शीत-ग्रीष्म, वर्षा-तूफान आदि कष्ट सह रहे थे, तब आपने उन्हें साहस प्रदान करते हुए कहा था, 'हे शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले वीर भाइयो! हम विजय की इच्छा से युद्ध में दुर्योधन को मार डालेंगे, सारथिओं को रथहीन कर देंगे, बड़े-बड़े हाथियों का संहार करेंगे और इस पृथ्वी को घुड़सवारों सहित रथों से आच्छादित कर देंगे। तत्पश्चात् हम सब सुखों से परिपूर्ण पृथ्वी का भोग करेंगे। उस समय यथोचित दान-दक्षिणा सहित नाना प्रकार के मंगलमय यज्ञों द्वारा भगवान की आराधना में तत्पर रहने से तुम्हारा वनवासजन्य दुःख सुख में बदल जाएगा।' हे पुण्यात्माओं में श्रेष्ठ! वीर महाराज! आज आप स्वयं द्वैत वन में इन भाइयों से ऐसी बातें कहकर हमारा हृदय क्यों दुखित कर रहे हैं? 8-12।
King! When all these brothers were suffering with you in the Dwait forest, the heat and cold, the rain and storms, you had given them courage and said, 'O brave brothers who suppress the enemies! Desiring victory, we will kill Duryodhana in the war, make the charioteers chariotless, kill the big elephants and cover this earth with chariots along with horsemen. Thereafter, we will enjoy the earth, full of all pleasures. At that time, by remaining engaged in the worship of God by performing various types of prosperous sacrifices with sufficient donations and dakshina, your sorrow caused by exile will turn into happiness.' O best of the virtuous! Brave Maharaj! Why are you breaking our hearts again today by saying such things to these brothers yourself in the Dwait forest? 8-12.
