हमने सुना है कि प्राचीन काल में एक बार कोसल के राजकुमार क्षेमदर्शी को बड़ी कठिन विपत्ति का सामना करना पड़ा। उनकी सारी सैन्य शक्ति नष्ट हो गई थी। उस समय वे कालकवृक्ष ऋषि के पास गए और उनके चरणों में प्रणाम करके उस विपत्ति से मुक्ति का उपाय पूछा॥3॥
We have heard that once in ancient times, the prince of Kosala, Kshemadarshi, had to face a very difficult calamity. All his military strength was destroyed. At that time, he went to the sage Kalakavriksha and bowing at his feet, he asked for a solution to get rid of that calamity.॥ 3॥
