तमब्रवीत् पिता नास्ति त्वदन्य: पुरुषोऽग्रज:।
स्थाणुरेष जले मग्नो विस्रब्ध: कुरु वैकृतम्॥ १४॥ |

| यह सुनकर पितामह ब्रह्मा ने सृष्टिकर्ता से कहा - 'आपके अतिरिक्त यहाँ कोई भी बड़ा पुरुष नहीं है। यदि यह स्थाणु (शिव) भी हैं, तो वे जल में डूबे हुए हैं; अतः आप निश्चिंत होकर सृष्टि का कार्य आरम्भ करें।'॥14॥ |

| Hearing this, the father Brahma said to the creator - 'There is no elder person other than you. Even if this Sthānu (Shiva) is there, he is submerged in water; therefore you should start the work of creation without any worry.'॥ 14॥ |
