यह देखकर ब्राह्मण का क्रोध चरम पर पहुँच गया और उसने सर्प को मारने की इच्छा से मृत्युदण्ड के समान भयंकर एक लाठी उठा ली। तब सर्प मनुष्य की वाणी में बोला -॥22॥
On seeing it, the Brahmin's anger reached its peak and with the intention of killing the snake, the Brahmin picked up a stick as dreadful as the rod of death. Then the snake spoke in human voice -॥22॥
