जिस प्रकार नदियों का जल-प्रवाह समुद्र में विलीन हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार धन-रत्नों का वह महान प्रवाह, जिसमें वस्त्र और कम्बल झाग के समान प्रतीत होते थे, विशाल हाथी महान लोकों का भ्रम उत्पन्न करते थे और जहाँ ध्वजाएँ और पताकाएँ रक्षक के रूप में कार्य कर रही थीं, पांडवों के समुद्र में विलीन हो गया। यद्यपि पांडव-सागर पहले से ही भरा हुआ था, तथापि धन के इस महान प्रवाह ने उसे और भी अधिक भर दिया। यही कारण था कि पांडव-सागर शत्रुओं को दुःखमय प्रतीत होने लगा। 56-57
Just as the great flow of water from rivers merges into the ocean, similarly that great flow of wealth and gems, in which clothes and blankets appeared like foam, huge elephants created the illusion of great planets and where flags and banners were serving as saviors, merged into the ocean of Pandavas. Although the Pandava-ocean was already full, yet this great flow of wealth made it even more full. This was the reason that the Pandava-ocean began to appear sorrowful to the enemies. 56-57.
